Coordinator's Report

In the summer of 2006, I took over this position as Acting Coordinator from Alison Miyake, who had worked at administering the TC SIG for a number of years. In November I became Coordinator.

I believe that I my role as the first Japanese TC SIG coordinator is to be a liaison between JALT and native Japanese teachers of English. As one of my tasks, I have managed to launch a bi-monthly Tokyo Regional Gathering in February. We have met three times already. And very recently, I have been able to work with other TC SIG officers to get an official ISSN number for our publication, Teachers Learning with Children, and file copies of every issue with the Diet Library.

With the strong support and encouragement from my fellow officers, I am enthusiastic about carrying this SIG to all the people who dedicate themselves to our children and their education.
